Riga Music

„Riga Rhythms”music festival is an annual international contemporary jazz and world music festival held in Riga, Latvia on the first week of July. It is one of the leading music festivals in Baltic States with recognition in Europe and the world. The festival represents Latvia in Europe Jazz Network (EJN).The „Riga Rhythms” music festival was held in July 2001, and since then more than 400 concerts has been given and about 300 artists from more than 20 countries have performed on stage and „Riga Rhythms” has attracted about 18 000 people. The Festival includes concerts and master classes, showcase and children’s festival pleasing audiences three times a year – in winter, spring and summer – culmination – music session concerts.

The festival's mission is - to promote the contemporary jazz and world music. Originally a jazz festival today "Riga Rhythms" offers its listeners a musical trip around the world, making it possible to get acquainted with Brazilian music, African music, Ladino, fado, flamenco, etc.

One of the cornerstones of the festival always have been master classes with important musicians and teachers who teach young music enthusiasts theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as the opportunity to challenge their creativity.
